In a coup for Hunter sport and tourism, The Vintage Golf Resort has scored the rights to host the NSW Open Golf Championship from the 7th to 11th November this year. We are excited to be able to bring some of Australia’s leading golfers to The Vintage and we believe the tournament will also provide a significant boost to tourism in the Hunter, with more than 5000 spectators expected over the four days.

In a first for Australian Golf, Amateurs will be able to play alongside the Professionals over the final two days of the tournament in a Pro-Am competition similar to the famous Pebble Beach Pro-Am in the United States. Teams for the Pro-Am will consist of one Professional and one Amateur, with the Pros hitting from the Championship Tees and the Amateurs from the Gold or Jade in the case of ladies.

The Vintage: New Partnership - October 2006

In October 2006 Stevens unveiled a new partnership with the very successful business team and developers Don and Nancy Panoz. Don and Nancy will be partnering John in the golf course and the resort developments at The Vintage.

Around the globe, Don and Nancy Panoz are respected as visionary business owners. Their experience is as broad as it is diverse. Don's team invented and patented the Nicorette patch.

The same dedication they showed in the pharmaceutical field was then applied to their next passion - combining the wine, hotel and resort industries. The first of these ventures was Château Élan, a 3500 acre winery, resort and residential development about 40mins drive north of Atlanta in the hills of north Georgia.

Don is one of the largest and most successful race car manufacturers in the world. His cars have won at Le Mans, Daytona and 3 times at the Indy500.
